Claire Falkenberg lives in Yukon, Canada, on the traditional territory of the Tr'ondek Hwech'in. Falkenberg has participated in many art book fairs with Open Projects + Press, a NYC based curatorial platform and imprint.
The books she makes are experiences in deep looking. She begins with photos she makes of trees, light, land, and then work with sequence, pacing, and duration to weave together time and observation. Through these slow and immersive experiences, her intention is for the books to point toward a sensation of tenderness, familiarity, and relationality, while conflating the space between the knowable and the mysterious.
