Morten Torgersrud lives and works in Kirkenes. He's interested in how the materiality of the environment is imaged and moved in it photographic technology. Often there is something structural at Torgersrud´s approach to the relationship between place and photography, whether in or outside the gallery. The works may contain references to it local photo history or more reductive approaches to the concrete physical landscape. In this way, they operate on different scale levels and with different degrees of resolution.
Torgersrud participated in Lofoten International Art Festival in 2019. His latest book releases are Lumps (2015)and FOG (2017), both published by Cornerkiosk press. Upcoming projects include a solo exhibition Kunstnerforbundet (2021) and a new book published by Heavy books.
